Unfortunately, there is no longer a single Security product that you can install to protect your companies data.
IT systems, at the very least, include – PCs, Tablets, Mobile Phones, Laptops, Shared data. Add all these together with users (your colleagues) and then you need to assume that security of your IT system is only as strong as the WEAKEST link. Remember that in 80% of cases RansomWare / Malware / CryptoLocker is activated by your colleagues!
Each of these components, including the users, have different risks and therefore require different security solutions.
This is why we will hear more of the term “Layers of IT security” as these different layers are required to protect your companies data.
Furthermore, the concept that one can have a “Fixed” or “Guaranteed” secure system is false. These layers have to be maintained, updated, reviewed and reported on, regularly.
So, even with all these layers, your company still needs to protect itself by ensuring that you have a Back Up System but more importantly that this system is periodically and regularly tested.
